The commotion in Bahrain is threatening the preparations for the first grand prix of Formula 1. Let us hope that everything will be ok and the season will start as planned. Sebastian Vettel, with the enormous support of his team, will want to defend his title, which is the case every year with each new world champion. Michael Schumacher, who became the laughing stock for many last year, will be strong this season, just as we knew him in the times of his greatest glory, the team gave him a better car than in 2010. M.Schumacher's performance last season can be viewed from two, personal and business, points of view. One is his personal courage to withstand the pressure of mockers when things are not going well, the doubting jeers, talks of his age and other nonsense. The other, business point of view, is the marketing management of F1 – or the support and attracting audience to Formula 1, for which he would be entitled a rich financial bonus. As far as racing is concerned, and Formula 1 is no exception, everybody wants to win and everyone would agree that Michael does not need to prove that to anyone.
The team of the red cars from Maranello presented their car as the first and I assume they are going to do their best this time to atone for the mistake in the end of the last Championship and they are going to get down to serious business with Fernando Alonso. It is possible that both pilots will enjoy the same support at the beginning, F. Massa would definitely deserve the title, but who wouldn't, right?
Like every year, we have some freshmen – Pastor Maldonado, Paul di Resta, Jarome d'Ambrosio, Sergio Perez who will have some learning to do – and now and then some of them might actually make a good impression, let us remember Nico Hülkenberg. We are going to see a valid Formula 1 driver, experienced and proved Indian Narain Kartikeyan of HRT, which still has one vacancy to fill. Robert Kubica's injury put him on the back burner, I am positive he will return to the Formula 1 2011 as soon as possible. This season we have two teams bearing the same mark, Lotus Renault GP and Team Lotus, we shall see who will bear the name Lotus with more pride, I expect that it would be Renault.
The change of tires for Pirelli, that will supply all teams with tires, is a major change as well and we will see how they will cope. Who will win the Championship in 2011? F. Alonso, F. Massa, S. Vettel, M. Webber or M. Schumacher? Also the experienced R. Barrichello might have his say or Nico Rosberg, both World Champions L. Hamilton and J. Button will join the battle for the Title too. We are looking forward to the season and after the eighth GP the vote for The Climber of the Year in F1 for 2011 will start, we expect a lot of our readers to join in this year.
