The circuit a la Tilke, built in Abu Dhabi marina is not one of best. Two long fast straights and then several times slow round the corner, without the charm of Spa, or Suzuka, not good for racing either. The asphalt exit zones substituting for the track and with a little benevolence of the marshals you can do unbelievable things on them, as you can see especially in GP2. A weekend where the trophy was the money for the team's table and not too prestigious vice-champion title, which showed in the team's effort. Red Bull without the podium for the first time. Even though Vettel in the qualification gained some hundreds of a second to McLaren, but already fourth Webber was way behind. In the next rows you could see the textbook distribution of both Ferraris before Mercedes and Force India.
After the start, Vettel in the front managed to damage his tire and suspension as soon as the first corner by his own fault and retired. Right after that Alonso sneaked around Button between McLarens and began to pull away from him. Before the first pit stop Hamilton was about five seconds ahead of Alonso and the same gap to the train that formed behind Button. After the pit stop the fourth Webber was trying to fight Button, but in vain. That dealt the cards in the front and the rest was just defending the positions. Behind both Mercedeses there was a hard fight for positions or the constructors money. Force India was dominating over Sauber and Torro Rosso. Webber had soft compound put on in the second pit stop again, which was like giving up the fight for the podium with Button. Then Massa showed a drift spinning around but kept ahead of Mercedes.
Behind them there was reliable Sutil and Di Resta and the last important point went to Kobayashi, which helped Sauber to get over Torro Rosso. In the finish Hamilton made himself happy with the easy win over Alonso, but was eliminated from the potentials for the Vice Champion at the same time. The third Button has an unbeatable advantage of twenty eight points over him. That, however, is not true about Alonso and Webber, who are mere ten or twenty two points behind Button. From this point of view there still will be a little something to win in Argentina.
