100 days before this 1st ever 100% electric show, drivers' line-up is getting bigger with confirmations of the greatest French drivers from different international motor racing categories.
Sébastien Loeb, seven times Rally World Champion, Sébastien Ogier last WRC rally winner in Germany, Sébastien Bourdais and Jean-Eric Vergne are caught up with 7 new drivers: the two last French who won Le Mans 24, Benoît Tréluyer this year and Romain Dumas in 2010, Stéphane Sarrazin, three times poleman of Le Mans 24 and Franck Montagny also on the podium of last Le Mans race as well as Jules Bianchi GP2 driver and development driver for Ferrari F1 and Charles Pic, also driving in GP2, the anteroom of F1.
"I'm glad that drivers new generation are with me and I look forward welcoming them in Paris-Bercy for this essential end-of-season event. Driving for the best teams in the best categories, these drivers are more or less like the "French team" and they stand for the present and the future of National Motor Racing" says Philippe Streiff, associate producer of the ERDF Masters Kart. The rest of the 20 stars drivers as well as the 10 junior drivers will be announced upon their confirmation. Next to David Coulthard and Kimi Räikkönen, the producers are currently inviting 2011 Formula 1 World Championship drivers. Philippe Streiff was in Spa-Francorchamps last week-end and will attend other Grand Prix until the end of the season. To celebrate the launch of the countdown of the last 100 days to the event, the ERDF Masters are launching on September 1st a big contest on Facebook. In liking ERDF Masters Kart's Facebook page, Facebook users can have a chance to VIP paddock access as well as Bercy tickets for the event. The ERDF Masters Kart will also attend two major French automotive events: the French Rally in Alsace from September 30th to October 2nd and Lyon motor show from October 8th to 16th where the 100% electric kart Sodi STX will run exhibitions. Born in Bercy in 1993, indoor karting will write a new chapter in its history, with 2 spectacular shows on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December 2011, thanks to electric power! The ERDF Masters Kart will be an exciting sporting show with 100% electric performance, back on the end-of-season calendar for drivers and for all motor sport fans. A quick glance at the history of the Bercy Masters underlies the fact that indoor karting has not only honored some of the greatest drivers in the world including Prost, Senna and Schumacher, but above all, Bercy was the arena in which several of the current F1 stars burst on the scene like Alonso, Vettel, Button or Hamilton. In Bercy, the ERDF Masters Kart will recreate the proximity between the spectators and the champions that is so much appreciated by both parties. The 12 000 spectators per day in the indoor stadium and TV viewers all over the world will thrill to a show on a track specially created by Colas with recyclable and recycled materials.
